Medsurgf1.net is a website providing information to foundation doctors and final year medical students.
Our aim is to provide an interactive e-learning environment, encouraging peer-peer learning and with information to aid career progression. What Colleges or Associations should you join? Which courses are useful and which are not? All content is written and submitted by fellow doctors wishing to share experiences and lessons learnt from clinical scenarios.
These take the form of reflective articles from F1 doctors, and "day in the life" articles from CT and ST grade doctors.
The forum provides an area for discussion and posting personal opinions, or can be used to help organise local teaching in your area. Enjoy the website, and feel free to submit an article for publication.
Like it or not, reflective practice is now an everyday part of the medical training scheme. From year 1 medical school through to ST training you are encouraged (or forced!) to reflect regularly, and document these reflections.
As an F1 doctor difficult situations occur on a regular basis; these test our skill, knowledge and judgement. Why write a reflection and then hide it away in your e-portfolio, why not share it with your collegues!
Contribute to the fastest growing online source of reflective knowledge for junior doctors. Easy to submit, and easy to access, this is a free resource that allows you to share your own experiences.
N.B. A reflective article is NOT a case report. For confidentiality reasons do not include detailed patient history information. The reflection should focus on a challenging scenario or difficlut decision, not just an interesting medical condition.
For this reason, membership to MedsurgF1.net is required to view these articles. The section navbar will not appear in the list on the left until you have registered.
